Dr. Christina Erbe

After my studies of dentistry in Gießen, I decided to do the postgraduate training in orthodontics at the University of Giessen as well. I spent a part of my further education in an orthodontic practice in Mönchengladbach and the clinical part was again in Gießen, where I finished it in 2006. I wrote my doctoral thesis on "Dental and skeletal effects of orthodontic & maxillofacial classII treatment (Angle class II:1) of adults - A cephalometric examination". Since 2007 I have been working at the Department of Orthodontics of the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg –University Mainz. Since 2008 I have been senior physician of the department and have since then conducted numerous scientific clinical studies. Since 2019 I am associate professor (Prof. Dr. Dr. Wehrbein) and since 2020 I have been habilitated.

At the Academy for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the German Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery I successfully completed the certified advanced training on pain therapy in the jaw and face region in 2012. Since then I have been caring for and treating hundreds of patients with chronic pain and craniomandibular dysfunctions, also in combination with aligner therapy.

I received the Invisalign Research Award in 2014, 2016 and 2019 for outstanding study designs due to quite invisible orthodontic treatment with aligner.
